Apartamentos Rurales Cielo de Monfragüe

Juanmi made us feel like family and shared tips on places to see and eat, even helping us look after the car. The suite was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, with a comfortable memory foam pillow bed. There’s a small garden and a pool with a shower, handy for relaxing in the sun. We had a lovely stay and highly recommend it. 😍

The area is peaceful, with narrow streets, and while there’s no reserved parking, we found a spot nearby without trouble. Juan, the owner, was attentive and very helpful, and the cleaning staff did an amazing job. The fenced pool felt safe with kids, and it was lovely to have it there. I stayed in a first floor apartment with a balcony, a little larger than some of the others, overlooking the pool and hills. We visited with friends in early June and had a great time. The apartments have been recently renovated to a high standard and come well stocked. The kitchen has what you need, including a kettle, toaster, and coffee maker, though there’s no oven. We’d definitely stay again.

We’ll definitely return. Monfrague is a must for its wildlife and landscapes, and we also enjoyed Plasencia and the Jerte valley, where we swam in one of the natural river pools. Juanmi was friendly, attentive, and gave us helpful ideas for nearby outings. We were four, two adults and two children, and stayed four nights in early June 2022. The recently renovated apartment and shared spaces were in excellent condition. The pool and terrace were spotless and a welcome place to cool off in the sun. A fenced pool with a gate that locks reassured us with the young children. There were outdoor seating spots too, especially useful for us to sit outside in the evening while the kids slept inside.

The host made us feel welcome, and the place was clean and roomy. It was one of the best stays on my cycling trip through Portugal and Spain. 10 out of 10, highly recommend!
