The apartment was nice overall, and the sea is only a five-minute walk away. Nights were quiet, though, with little to do nearby. Palma is about an hour and a half away by car and has plenty of good restaurants, but choices are limited if you want to do something besides eating and drinking. A few things bothered me during the stay. The walls are very thin, and our neighbours' alarm woke me every morning. Cleaning felt superficial, even though the sheets and towels were changed regularly. The kitchen had very few utensils and not enough space for everything.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the cleaners were very friendly when they brought us fresh towels. We had a small balcony with a nice sea view, decent fridge space, a microwave, air conditioning, and the other basic kitchen appliances. There was no kettle, but we heated water in a pan. Getting checked in was less straightforward. The other hotel was described as just a few metres away, but it's actually a 10-15 minute walk. We couldn't get online at first, and the hotel gave us incorrect WiFi details. We eventually found the Cala Morlanda WiFi QR code in the lobby and on the walls on our floor.

The location is lovely, just two minutes from a beautiful beach, shops, and restaurants. But entering the water means crossing roughly 2-3 metres of sharp rocks before reaching the sandy bottom, and we ended up with several cuts. Sa Coma Playa is a beautiful, rock-free beach about a 15-20 minute walk away. Our arrival was awful. The entrance was locked and nobody was at reception. I noticed a fallen note on the window saying to collect the key at another hotel, a 20-minute walk away. I had to make that walk in 30-degree heat with my 8-year-old and all our heavy luggage. Guests should be told before they arrive, not left to discover this after a long trip. The room layout looked nice and modern, though it was smaller than the photos and laid out differently. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen sink was blocked when we got there, so we couldn't use the kitchen to prepare food or wash up. The bathroom smelled odd, and the shower room let water leak across the floor and into the room. The shower heads were too low and couldn't be adjusted. I'm 5ft2 and barely had room above my head. There were hairs on the bathroom floor and hairdryer, and I found shoe soles beside the sofa. After some rain one night, the shower drain flooded and the toilet water rose. It stayed that way for the rest of the holiday, so we had to be careful how often we flushed to avoid an overflow. It was nearly impossible to reach anyone for help. When we did get a reply, they answered the positive comments but not our complaints or requests for help. I wouldn't recommend staying here; the stress wasn't worth it.

It wasn't even worth one star. The studio was dirty, the air conditioning didn't work, and there were no blankets or storage space. There were no toiletries, sugar, salt, or corkscrew, and the only knife was a butter knife. The TV was a joke: no internet connection, and every channel was in Spanish. We got just one roll of toilet paper for two people staying five days. The photos were misleading. When I raised this with management by phone, she said all standard studios were the same size, balconies included. So why did none of the 40 Booking photos show the ridiculously tiny balcony or the lack of amenities?

We arrived tired after a four-hour flight, but nobody was there to meet us. I had to go to another hotel to pick up the key. The service has been extremely poor during our stay, from the 5th through the 11th. The internet hasn't worked since our first day and still isn't connected. The air conditioning fan makes a constant, unbearable noise, and sometimes it smells like sewage, so we have to leave the window open to breathe. On Saturday evening I called more than six times without an answer. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
