Hotel Cala Murada

We spent four days here at the end of May. The weather was mild, so the pools were just the right temperature. The hotel is peaceful and quiet, which made it a great place to unwind, and the grounds and pools are very well kept. There’s a small gym too, which surprised me. It doesn’t have much equipment, but there’s enough for a workout. We didn’t go to the Cala next to the hotel, though the other Cala's are easy enough to reach by car. Breakfast was basic, nothing special.

We had kept our wallets in separate bags and in different places in the room. While we were downstairs having breakfast, €370 disappeared from them. The night before, we had counted our cash and knew how much we had. After breakfast my partner went to pay for something and found all the money gone, then we checked my wallet and it was empty too. The housekeeper working on the second floor had entered our room during breakfast and taken all the cash from both wallets. We haven’t seen that housekeeper since. There are no cameras or electronic key cards at the hotel, so there’s no way to confirm who entered. The manager tried to help, and we filed a police report, but the incident ruined the rest of our holiday. We no longer felt safe in the room and kept hiding our belongings, worried something else would be taken. We were so stressed that we left five days early and went home. It stopped us from enjoying the rest of our stay.

The pub downstairs had great food and attractive, competitive prices. There are beautiful beaches nearby, too. Our room was spacious and clean, with a very comfortable bed and excellent air conditioning. The hotel has two pools, and neither was crowded even when the place was full. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

There’s a beautiful beach a few kilometers away, and a bus stop right beside the hotel takes you anywhere. We stayed for a week with my mother from Germany and had a great time. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. Breakfast was good, and the restaurant serves dinner from 6 p.m. The food was delicious, freshly prepared and cooked on-site by a chef. There are two large pools, and our room was very clean and serviced daily. I highly recommend the hotel.
