Casa Berdeal

We were nine people and found the house comfortable and convenient. It’s very well equipped and has everything you might need.

The house itself is lovely, and after the first night it was comfortable once the heating began working properly. But that first night was very uncomfortable for us, and we were disappointed by how cold it was. We rented it for New Year’s. The radiators were almost cold when we arrived, even though the heating in such a large house should have been started well ahead of time, not just half an hour beforehand. We contacted the owner, but heard back quite late. She suggested keeping doors shut to hold in the heat, which was hard with small children. We spent New Year’s Eve indoors in jackets and went to bed bundled up. The radiators only started warming the next day. To clarify, the cold wasn’t from being outdoors or watching fireworks. We were mostly inside on the ground floor, going upstairs only to sleep, and it was chilly in the bedrooms and throughout the house, with radiators that felt nearly cold. The heating worked properly from the second day, and the house was comfortable then. This review is about our experience on that first night.

The owners were so kind and attentive, always checking that guests were comfortable. They were efficient and helpful throughout. The house is fantastic, with cozy, very spacious rooms and comfortable shared areas.

A great spot to unwind in a manor house, with beautiful scenery around it. There’s a river nearby for shady walks, and the beaches are only about 20 minutes away. Hard to ask for more.
