The village road is long and not in great shape, so allow extra time when following your navigation. That’s no fault of the host, who made us feel like family. He’s a ray of sunshine, keeps the house clean and tidy, and cooks well. His English isn’t strong, but he greets you warmly, and you can see how much he wants you to feel welcome. The green, high-altitude landscape was a surprise. Spain can be like this, cool and fresh rather than hot and humid like the coast. We enjoyed walking and hiking in the area, exploring the woods, then having a beer in the evening.

We had some of the best food we’ve tried in Spain at this great rural stay. The owners and staff were just amazing 👏

The rooms are really comfortable, and parking is free. The owner is lovely and looked after us so well; we felt completely at home. It’s a great find in a quiet area, close to the Sierra de la Culebra for hiking and other outdoor activities.
