Apartamentos Playa de Canutells

We stayed at Apartamentos Playa Canutells in July 2025 and left after six nights because we were concerned about our health. In apartment 4, there were clear damp patches, a strong musty smell and visible mold in the bedroom behind the curtains, as shown in the photo. When we reported it, we were offered apartment 5, but that was worse: the mold behind the bed had simply been painted over in white, as shown in the second photo. We lost the nine prepaid nights we didn’t use. The bay view and location are good, but we can’t recommend the property. The hygiene was poor and the conditions felt unsafe.

Menorca was beautiful and peaceful in February, and this place was a great fit for nature lovers. We stayed in apartment 9, which had a breathtaking view. The apartment was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. Even in winter, the little Cala was lovely for a morning swim.

We had a pleasant, memorable stay from late November into early December 2019. The host was pleasant and quick to respond, and the room setup worked for our family of six. It was just a ten-minute drive to the nearest town for restaurants and a supermarket. The seaside location was beautiful, and the weather was perfect for shorts and T-shirts despite the changing global climate. We were virtually the only foreign travelers in the area. There were some practical problems, though. The hot water ran out fast, and for six people staying four nights there was just one full roll of toilet paper. The kitchen had no pan for cooking. Cleaning also wasn’t satisfactory: we found hair on the pillows and in the bathroom, and it didn’t seem to have been cleaned before we arrived.
