Calallonga Hotel Menorca

We had a lovely, relaxing stay in a friendly, family-run-feeling hotel where everything was maintained to a high standard. Christina, the manager, introduced herself when we checked in, and her enthusiasm for the place really set the tone. My wife booked at the last minute while I sorted the flights. Room 320 was a spacious, clean apartment-style room with a small kitchenette, a large sofa bed, a beautiful bathroom, a big bedroom and a partial sea view from the balcony. I couldn’t work out the air conditioning, but the mild weather meant we didn’t really need it. We chose the out-of-the-way location because we wanted somewhere quiet. The town is about a ten-minute drive away when you want to see or do things. If you’re young and looking for action or parties, this probably isn’t the place. We booked half board and expected the usual buffet slop for the price, but dinner was a full three-course à la carte meal every night. The food was well prepared and tasty, and the staff were friendly. By the second day they remembered our room number. Drinks cost extra, but were reasonably priced. Breakfast was fine, with a decent range for most people. There was only one coffee machine for most of the week, and it was slow, sometimes causing a queue even though the hotel wasn’t busy. I saw a second one come into use on our departure day, which is good, because in peak months the wait could be a nightmare. Thanks to everyone for a lovely holiday.

We had such a wonderful stay here in July. The rooms were spacious, cozy and spotless, a lovely place to unwind after long days out. The staff were the friendliest we’ve ever met, always warm, attentive and ready to help. A special thank you to Jemma for her kind heart and thoughtful care. She made us feel looked after the whole time. It was my boyfriend’s birthday during the trip, and the team surprised him with congratulations without us saying anything. The little piece of birthday cake at breakfast was such a sweet touch and made our morning. Many thanks to the whole team. We can’t wait to return!

I’d recommend hiring a car, just not from okmobility! The hotel was quiet and relaxing during my five days at the very beginning of October, and there were no children. The rooms felt comfortable, modern and gorgeous. The food was fabulous and very reasonably priced compared with local restaurants. Breakfast had lots of choice and was incredible, though it didn’t change from one day to the next. The staff were helpful: the receptionist gave us lots of information, the waitress patiently explained the wine menu, and the housekeepers came back later when we were still packing our day bag. The sun loungers made an uncomfortably loud noise whenever you moved them, which took away from the relaxing atmosphere. A couple of room niggles: the hairdryer cord was stiff, making it hard to pull it out to where you need it while holding the button down. And apart from the bathroom, the floors weren’t cleaned once. After four days, I had clumps of dust and hair stuck to my feet!

The tranquil setting and breathtaking views over the Port of Maó made for an unforgettable stay. The staff combined real warmth with impeccable professionalism, and made every moment feel special. Our elegant, comfortable room and the pristine, wonderfully refreshing swimming pools were ideal for unwinding. The restaurant had a wide choice of flavorful dishes, beautifully presented. Highly recommended for refined relaxation, good food and stunning views.
