BlueBay Banus Hotel

The staff were friendly and professional, and the whole place had a great feel. Breakfast was amazing, with lots of tasty choices. It was quiet and spacious too, which made for a really comfortable stay. I'll definitely be back!

For our 4 day stay, it worked well and was affordable for that time of year. The price was reasonable compared with other hotels, and the beach was walkable. But I can see why the reviews are mixed. The hotel needs updating, and the room was roomy but dated. The grass around the main pool was very worn, and there weren't many umbrellas. We found space at the second, smaller pool, where it was quieter and less worn. Two people in our group saw a cockroach in their rooms, which I can imagine isn't unusual for that time of year. We were lucky not to be placed by the busy main road. If you're after something modern or high spec, I'd book somewhere else.

I'd think twice before booking Hotel BlueBay Banus. A medical emergency meant I couldn't take my original flight, so I called the hotel to explain I'd arrive late. They said on the phone that it was fine and that my room would be available. Then, without warning, they cancelled the whole booking and marked it as a “no-show,” even though I'd told them I was coming late. EasyJet Holidays contacted them for me and said the booking was still valid. When I called the hotel again just minutes later, they said it had been cancelled. The answers directly contradicted each other. I've been left out of pocket for a holiday I fully intended to take. The hotel has refused responsibility, saying they didn't get paid. Their attitude and lack of accountability were shocking. There was no compassion, transparency, or willingness to help, just excuses and blame-shifting. They now ignore my email and tried to gas light me into thinking the phone call confirming my booking never happened, even though I have proof of it. The poor customer service made a stressful situation worse. It wasn't just an inconvenience, it was a holiday I'd paid for and completely lost. I'd never book here again and will warn others too.

The entertainment and restaurant staff were the only real bright spot. They were polite and helpful. Beyond that, the hotel was poor value for what I paid, and I wouldn't recommend it. I stayed for two weeks, and the outdated rooms had an ant problem. Reception were unhelpful and quite arrogant. They didn't offer to help with my luggage, which was especially frustrating while I was travelling with a baby. The manager seemed unfriendly too. Around the pool, things weren't well maintained: the sunbeds were old, worn, and uncomfortable, and the ground was bare, dirty soil instead of grass.
