Marbella Beach Resort at Club Playa Real

Our apartment was unusable, and the staff didn’t seem to care or try to fix the problems. They only sent someone the day before we left. There’s also a terrible smell that myself and others have complained about, and the hotel is deleting reviews. We’re still trying to get our money back. Disgusting. Don’t stay here.

Just a nightmare. Our flight was late, so we arrived late too. The hotel staff said they’d leave the key in a key locker, but they took it out without telling us because of the delay. When we got there at night, it wasn’t where it was meant to be. When I asked, they said it was our own fault. The hotel itself was awful too. The room hadn’t been cleaned properly, the decorations looked like they were from ages ago, and there was a funky smell. Everything felt dirty and unpleasant. I don’t recommend it. Stay away.

I’m booking from the USA, and getting through by phone has been difficult. They only answered twice, when my family in Spain called. Both times the resort said they couldn’t discuss things and asked us to email. After several days, the reply still didn’t answer our questions. They just said, “When you arrive here we will provide the information.”

There’s plenty of cupboard space, which was handy, but the room layout felt strange and the bedding looked old. The rooms also smelled strongly of sewage. The shower was cramped and water got everywhere. There was no room service, not even once a week. Whether you find it comfortable probably depends on your standards.
