The room was tiny, and the shower was broken. The sink leaked too. There were no facilities, not even coffee or tea, and basically they just showed me to the room and left it at that.

It's a beautiful hacienda and works well for celebrations. The place is really well maintained, and the staff are very friendly. It is a little remote, but still worth the trip.

For a stopover, it was exactly what I needed: a comfortable room in a very quiet spot with a great view. Just let Violeta know when you'll arrive and she'll be there to welcome you. You probably won't see her after that, which is fine since this isn't a hotel, but a hacienda that hosts receptions and weddings. There's no breakfast service, but a "venta" is two minutes away. You can get a proper Andalusian breakfast there, including Marchena's local specialty, "Les Mollettes". It gets very cold in winter. In midsummer, though, the fan and air conditioning kept me comfortable.

The ten of us all had a great weekend in the area. Violeta is a delight, and this is a country house, so you need to know what kind of place you're booking. The access road is the rough part: the final 100 meters had been made worse by rain. Some negative reviews sound to me like people expected a Riviera Maya resort.
