The location is good, and the apartment is well equipped, though it was missing a few basics: a hairdryer and soap dish. The front terrace also isn't enclosed, which matters if you have a pet. I was disappointed by the €20 surcharge for our small dog for a two-night stay, even though Booking.com did say there might be a charge. The on-site bar is good, and there's free tennis, ping pong, and use of two pools, one for adults only. Free off-road parking is available if there's space.

The beach right across from the hotel has nice water, but it gets deep quickly, over a meter deep just two meters out. With small children, there's a fantastic alternative about 300 meters up the hill, then down a well-built wooden path. Ask the owner for directions. If you're driving, walk there instead, since parking at the top of the hill is limited. The hotel has a restaurant, and the apartments have good kitchens if you'd rather cook. There are two pools, one kept for adults wanting a quieter time, and another for adults and kids with a shallow area. You can also use the tennis court, barbecue, and free table tennis on the grounds.

It's a beautiful spot, but it has a lot to live up to. The place was recently taken over, and renovation work was underway to improve it. Service and food were both adequate.
6/10
I was let down by the beer as well as the food. The beer was Dutch and flat. I first visited this bar over 21 years ago, and it seems to be going downhill.

Street vendors interrupted us several times, and it was really hard to get the waiter's attention. Still, the atmosphere and overall quality make the visit worthwhile.
