Mario got the online check-in sorted for me quickly, though I found it complicated to do with children even as someone who's good with computers. He was attentive and helpful throughout. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the price was very good. The soundproofing could be better, since we could hear neighbors coughing and their TV, even though the area itself wasn't noisy. I'd stay again if I came back to Medinaceli.

For a quiet, hassle-free stay, this place worked really well. It's simple, without frills, but welcoming and very clean, and the room was in perfect shape with what we needed to rest comfortably. The breakfast was a real surprise: tasty and filling for just 6 €, which is hard to find these days. Great value for money.

We paid for a booking we never ended up using, and the way the hotel's reservations manager handled the booking mistake was appalling, both in what they said and how they said it. There was no empathy at all, and the treatment was completely unacceptable. I'm not young, and I've never had anyone treat me so unpleasantly. Customer service at a public business like a hotel should be impeccable. This was an experience I'd rather forget, and I can't recommend the place.

Today, my partner noticed while checking the hostel's address in the email that we'd accidentally booked it for the previous Thursday. We called to explain and ask if we could still come as planned today. The room had been paid for at booking, and we'd booked through the hostel's own website, so they also avoided booking fees. A man told us the reservation was marked as a no-show for Thursday and nothing could be done. I found that response unscrupulous and lacking sympathy. The room had been paid in advance, and neither Thursday nor Sunday in May are peak days. As I see it, the hostel lost nothing. We were on a business trip and had to find somewhere else to sleep at short notice. A few hours later, we emailed again, explained what happened, and asked as a courtesy for a refund for the paid night. It was a Thursday in May, and the room hadn't been booked by anyone else, even then. This isn't about the money anymore. We wanted at least some humane, empathetic treatment. They replied that a refund wasn't possible because we'd chosen the non-refundable rate. Excuses, as they say. Apparently this gentleman has never made a mistake. I hope he never does, and that if he does, he doesn't meet someone as lacking in empathy and honesty as he was. These are the details that make you speak well of a place and recommend it. I won't be returning, and we certainly won't recommend it.
