Apartamentos La Guarida 1820

The location was the only good part of our stay at Picapoll. We killed three cockroaches, got locked out of our locker, and then couldn't get back into the apartment after the first of our three days. There was no AC, no one on site, and we never saw any staff. There's no concierge, tour desk, or 24-hour security. They gave the impression they'd sort out our problems, but nothing was done. The second bedroom was barely large enough for a twin bed, and the “sofa” was actually the bed for our fourth person. Maybe the other rooms are better, but Picapoll was not good.

The beds were extremely comfortable, and the apartment's decor was stunning. Our host was attentive and helpful, and there are lockers on the first floor if you need somewhere to leave your bags. Hot water ran short when we all wanted showers at once. The windows are very thin, and because the location is so central we heard noise all night. We barely slept the first night, though earplugs made it more manageable afterward. The stairwell was noisy too, with other guests going through.

After I booked, I got a scam message asking for a money transfer. The apartments' data has been leaked. Don't use the Wi-Fi or reply to WhatsApp messages.

The staff were very friendly and the location was excellent, but my family didn't feel comfortable and we lost a whole night's sleep, so we had to move the very next morning. The area around the apartment felt a bit clumsy, and getting luggage up the access route and interior stairs was really difficult. There's one poorly ventilated toilet for three rooms, and it's far from the master bedroom. There was no AC. The old ceiling fan was noisy enough to ruin a night's sleep, and the doors and windows did little to block road noise. None of the interior doors could be locked.
