Albergue Alfonso Ii

We were the only two guests with reservations, but they opened the place for us anyway, which was really kind. The dorm is laid out well, with an outlet, light, and lockable locker at every bed. There’s also a small shared kitchen with a fridge, plus a lovely backyard. The Albergue feels new, and the bathroom and shower facilities are great. Definitely worth a stay in Melide.

The staff were friendly and helpful. When my friend, who had been bitten by bedbugs two days earlier, wanted her clothes dried again, they arranged a three-hour high-heat cycle right away. Beds cost 10€ each, and each has its own charging outlet. The room was clean and pleasant, with keyed lockers, a balcony, and plenty of hanging space. There are two washing machines for 3€ and two dryers for 4€. I wasn’t keen on the small shower stall or its push button, though there’s a door for privacy and extra space just outside.

The staff were friendly, which was the one good part. The showers were cold, there’s no kitchen, doors close at 7 pm, and guests have to leave by 8 am. I think you can get more for your money elsewhere.

The staff were very helpful, and my shower was hot. My private room also had an electric radiator.
