Boutique Hotel El Olivar

This hotel feels like our little piece of paradise. We love its spot in the Square, the lovely breakfast with fresh baking and homemade preserves, and the honesty bar. The roof terrace has beautiful views, as do our favourite room and some others, looking out over the mountains. Alberto and Miki are so helpful and always ready to do whatever they can. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

We’ll definitely be back to El Olivar. Alberto and Mika were so welcoming and helpful, and it was refreshing to stay somewhere where the owners clearly take pride in what they offer. Our room was spotless and had everything we needed, including tea and coffee facilities and a fridge, which you don’t always find in Spain. Breakfast had plenty of choice, and eating on the terrace with the mountain views was perfect.

The owners kept in touch really well before our stay and throughout our visit. They were extremely helpful and friendly. The location is lovely, with beautiful views, thoughtful little touches, and a wonderful breakfast. Honestly, it should be more than a 2 star hotel. I’d highly recommend it.

We stayed at Boutique Hotel El Olivar in Mojacar Peublo from 23rd to 25th March 2026. Room 1 had a mountain view, a roomy layout, a large comfortable bed, and everything we needed, including a fridge. We slept well after sightseeing. The room felt peaceful and relaxing, even though the hotel is right among the town’s activity. Our hosts were kind and very helpful. They communicated clearly before and throughout our visit. We arrived later than expected, so used self check-in, which was explained well and easy to follow. The hotel is in one of Mojacar Peublo’s lovely squares, with bars, shops, and restaurants a short stroll away. It’s a good base for exploring the town and further afield. There’s an inexpensive regular bus down to the Playa, where the beach and promenade are stunning and lined with plenty of bars and restaurants. The building blends traditional and modern style nicely. We could use both the dining terrace and roof terrace during our stay, and the honesty bar made it easy to enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sunset over the mountains. The continental breakfast had a good selection. We especially liked the fresh coffee, croissants, and homemade preserves, particularly the marmalade made with locally grown oranges. Sitting on the terrace and watching the town wake up was lovely. We drove to Mojacar and found a free parking spot without trouble. From there it was a short but uphill walk to the hotel, though using the town lift cut out most of the climb. There is also secure underground parking at the hotel for a small cost. A little gem and a great find. We’d highly recommend it and are already looking forward to another visit. Kindest regards Carl & Val
