Apartamentos Sol Isla

It’s a pretty, quiet private development, with the beach only a few meters away. The apartment needs some basic updates, though, and would be much better value if they were done. The beds are very comfortable, and I suspect those are the most recently updated part. I hope my constructive review is useful and encourages you to enjoy an apartment that’s not bad apart from the things I mentioned.

It’s a quiet residence in a good location, and the staff are friendly. I’d recommend it for the price, but there are several problems. The shower’s hot water lasted less than five minutes, the bathroom was tiny, and one bed had bedbugs. The person who slept there woke up covered in red dots. There’s a supermarket nearby, but it’s expensive. I’d shop at one of the bigger markets near the airport.

The atmosphere is very peaceful, the location is nice, and the pool is huge. The receptionist was friendly and always ready to help. The apartments are a little small and have no air conditioning, so they get very hot. There were two small fans, but they didn’t do much.

We went at the end of September, and the duvet didn’t have a cover. The apartments have no heating or air conditioning, and you can hear the awful karaoke from them. The worst thing was the location. Arenal is British, with Irish pubs, Indian restaurants, and bars serving beans and sausages for breakfast. There was nothing local. We won’t come back. The apartments are tiny, there’s no dishwasher, and although the cleaning was okay, everything is worn out, from the floors and doors to the bathroom sink.
