Hotel El Cortijo

We left feeling only so-so about the place. We got there late, just as the kitchen was nearly closing, and they wouldn't make anything hot. Even ordering a cold sandwich turned into a hassle. Maybe they were overwhelmed, or maybe they simply didn't feel like helping us. If we come back, we'll give it another try.

We had a really awful Sunday lunch on August 10th. The food took an hour to arrive, and they blamed the delay on the manager being away. Our white wine was warm because, they said, the cooler was broken. When we asked for Tinta de Verano, they charged us for red wine and Fanta just because we changed from Fanta Lemon to Fanta Orange, even though we hadn't opened a bottle. A friendly girl eventually came over and tried to straighten out the mess at the bar. They should have told us the manager wasn't there. The service was terrible.

I've been waiting 39 minutes for toast at breakfast. When I asked, they said they'd forgotten it, and apparently there's only one waitress because they're short-staffed. The toast was terrible. I won't come back.

We've been here before, and as usual, everything was very good. The food was excellent and the service just as good. It's a pleasure to find a place like this. I recommend it wholeheartedly, and want to thank Christopher personally for being so attentive and friendly.
