Hostal La Paz

It's handy to have everything nearby, though parking means walking a bit down the street. The entrance stairs are steep, so I wouldn't recommend it with a small baby and stroller. The woman answering the phone was very friendly and offered options. Just be aware it's on one of the city's main roads, so there's quite a bit of noise.

The walls are paper thin, but having the bathroom between our room and the neighbour's meant we couldn't hear their TV. Whether you sleep well also depends on what kind of mattress you like, especially with the large beds. Ours worked out fine. One odd thing: my wife called asking where I was while I was actually in the room, totally relaxed, and she was completely out of it. I went into the hallway and couldn't see her, then switched hallways and spotted her at the other end. Apparently some keys can open another room's door, so don't leave valuables inside. The receptionist was a bit odd, though the woman who helped us over the phone was incredibly helpful.

The hostel is close to the beaches and port, and the receptionist was lovely and gave us great advice. Finding parking is difficult, though you can get a spot. I thought €110 for a room for two was a bit expensive.

Sônia was great with advice about things to do nearby, and the service was impeccable. The room had a wardrobe, a great TV, a desk and chair, and good pillows with excellent linens. Everything was very clean, and the bathroom was spacious. I really recommend it.
