The hotel itself was spot on. Rooms were lovely, cleaned regularly to a high standard, and the pools and bar were fantastic. The problem was the noise from the strip at the bottom of the valley. Between 1am and 4am it was unbearable and we couldn’t sleep. We were there in February, when the weather and temperature were lovely, so we could shut the doors, but the soundproofing needs improving. With that noise, it felt like we were sitting in the bars. The hotel was perfect; the location and noise were terrible.

The walk back from the bars and restaurants means tackling 205 steps, which won’t suit everyone. If you’re on an upper floor, noise from the clubs below can also be an issue for light sleepers. Even so, we had a great week in December, and Puerto Rico is a great place that I’d highly recommend. The hotel is managed by the adjoining hotel, so reception is a five-minute walk away. Staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and cleaned regularly, and the maids kept the bar and pool area spotless.

The only real nuisance was the “hienas” putting towels on the sunbeds early in the morning to claim them. Apart from that, we were very satisfied and would recommend staying here. The apartment was spacious and clean, with a big balcony and good views. The pool was clean and pleasant too.

The big balcony had a lovely view of Puerto Rico. Inside, the beds were really comfortable, and the shower had strong pressure and plenty of hot water. The apartments were clean and comfortable.

It’s on the side of a hill, so there are lots of stairs between the shops and the hotel. The hotel was lovely and well maintained, and the staff were wonderful.
