I love coming here to unwind.

Just perfect!

The room is spacious enough for a family and has everything you need. My problem is the pool: it’s far too small for the number of guests, and there’s no control over who comes and goes. When it’s busy, you can’t even get in, and the deck is extremely slippery. They should limit how many people use the pool so everyone can enjoy it more.

For the price, you get two bedrooms, a terrace and sea views, plus pool access, though the pool was shaded in the afternoon. Street parking was easy, which is a real luxury in Arguineguin. Patalavaca beach is a 15-20 minute walk away; apparently it’s a natural rather than artificial sandy beach, and at the end of October it was quiet and seemed well suited to children. There was air conditioning in the living room and main bedroom. The apartment itself had some small but frustrating gaps: no bowls, just coffee cups; no colander, making pasta tricky; only four spoons, so a fifth person would have to wait while the others ate yogurt; and no broom, only a little dustpan. It isn’t a four-star hotel, but the value is good, and I’d suggest the owner take these inexpensive issues into account. The access codes for the gate and apartment arrived at the last minute, around 2 p.m. for a 3 p.m. check-in, which could stress you out, but everything worked smoothly. The keybox means you can still get in if your flight is late or delayed. You need to keep your phone charged to receive the check-in email after sending the occupants’ details, ID and credit card for the security deposit. Email communication was good, and we didn’t see any staff. We didn’t use the small pool. I’d recommend the place to people who aren’t too demanding and don’t spend all their time indoors. If we return to Gran Canaria, we’d choose this apartment again. Booking directly through the Calypso website is cheaper, in my opinion.
