Punta del Rey - Adults Only

This was our second stay in a year, and we still love the place. Its authentic Spanish layout and the amazing views make it hard to choose somewhere else. It's close to the beach and right in the middle of everything we wanted to do. This year we booked premium rooms but preferred the standard ones, so we switched. The reception staff were extremely accommodating, thank you! There was always plenty to eat and do nearby, so we never had a problem.

The view from the balcony is perfect, and the rooms are spacious. Reception staff were very nice both day and night, and you can buy large bottles of water there, which saves a trip down to the shops by the beach. The pool is nice too. Night entertainment can feel a bit like Phoenix Nights, though that's just a matter of taste. A very nice hotel, and I'd definitely stay again next year.

I would never stay here again. There were about ten people in the hotel when we arrived. For the first two days, the restaurant and bar opened at their normal times, but for the last three days of our seven-night holiday, hours were cut from 9 to 6 to 9 to 2. The pool bar closed completely, so there was no food or drink there and we had to go down to the bottom centre for anything we wanted. On our last day, a note under the door said we had to leave by 12, and that the hotel would close at 3. At 3 they put us out on the street, with the doors locked, and we had to wait there until our taxi came at 5:30. There was no explanation for making us leave at 3. All the other guests had to do the same. Reception staff were really rude, except for one person who offered to stay while other guests' bus and our taxi arrived. The hotel manager said no, the door had to be locked at 3 pm.

The sea view is the best part, and every room faces the sea. The pool area is lovely, with plenty of sunbeds, and the staff are friendly. Rooms are basic and there's no air conditioning, so they can get hot in summer. We spent most of our time exploring the island, so that didn't bother us much. It would be better if WiFi were free, though €9 for three days isn't expensive.
