Hostal El Quintà

The stars at night and the peaceful mountain setting were beautiful. We stayed for a week from late June to early July 2024, and felt very much at home. The family at Hostal El Quinta were kind and tried hard to understand us even though we couldn't speak Catalan. The building, our room, and the surroundings were spotless, with the room cleaned daily. There’s no elevator, but parking right in front was very convenient. Dinner was a treat each evening. The menu was shared in the afternoon, with choices from meat and seafood to a special local delicacy. Breakfast included coffee, bread, ham, sausages, cheese, biscuits, and different kinds of cornflakes. There was a small misunderstanding about portions at our last breakfast, but translation helped sort it out, and we enjoyed every bite of the sausage, ham, and bread, along with two drinks. Nothing went to waste. The host also went out of their way to help with a personal order and send it to us. We owe Kris a lot, and are grateful to the two young women, their mother, and the wife as well. moltes gràcies, Madam. It’s a lovely place for a longer, easy-going break, with beautiful day trips nearby and pleasantly cool summer weather. Golf de Camprodon is close by, too. It’s a fabulous course with a friendly caretaker and members, though we learned it can get crowded in summer. The photos here are all lovely and true to the place.
