Il Santa Clara Hotel

The location beside the medieval bridge is handy, though my room didn't overlook it. In the single room, there were two small beds instead of one bigger bed, and breakfast was very basic. Other guests mentioned having too little heat and water that wasn't properly hot. The bathtub also felt unsafe and uncomfortable, which is why I took off a star.

The views were the one good part, but we were cold trying to sleep. The heating was barely on, the water only lukewarm, and my shower was awful. Reception was unattended the whole time, and we nearly booked a different hotel.

The shower was the worst part: there was no hot water at 7 pm, and in the morning the bath water was only lukewarm. The showerhead was awful too. We were cold all night, even though there were two adults and two children sleeping in our clothes. They switched on the heating for a little while, then left it off overnight. We'd asked for a double bed, but got two singles pushed together. The rooms were terrible, even the air conditioning, and we had to wait because nobody was at reception. For the price, it was extremely expensive. I can't recommend it.

The location is central, and the receptionist was incredibly friendly and helpful. Still, the price is exorbitant for what's offered, especially with no breakfast and such outdated decor. On arrival we needed three maintenance calls. The lights and the bathtub and shower taps were broken, and there weren't any hangers at all. With the bedside lights already out, we gave up. Our rooms faced an interior courtyard, so noise from neighboring rooms carried through.
