The room was clean and really comfortable, with unbeatable views. They were also very accommodating about letting us bring our dog for a few days. The warm welcome and the food made us feel completely at home. The quality and generous portions would impress a lot of chefs. It was far better than we expected. We hope to see you again. The homemade food, the rustic-vintage house, and the spectacular views all made the stay feel special. Elías and Laura were wonderful, and we felt right at home. It’s a peaceful place among the mountains, with fresh air and quiet all around, just right if you want to switch off in nature. The service was impeccable and the setting idyllic. Everything was incredible. We’ll definitely return and recommend it 100%.

The terrace by the bar looks out over the mountains, the kind of view that makes you want to stay forever. My room was very comfortable, too. The food was all homemade and honestly, I have no words for how good it was. The rice pudding was the best in the world. Breakfast came with homemade churros, sponge cake, coffee, and juice. Elías and Laura, thank you for sending me home from my vacation with a big smile. The service was impeccable.

The main reason we left after just one of our three booked nights was the insects inside the house. I grew up spending summers in my family’s country houses in Asturias, but the bugs stayed outdoors there. In every room, ants were coming through holes in the window frames and spreading across the floors. Laura brought spray, and ants of all sizes poured out of the frame. The first bedroom smelled so strongly of insect spray that we wouldn’t sleep there with our 3-year-old daughter. We found more ants in the other bedroom, and when I sprayed there myself, they came out everywhere too. Laura said they were winged ants because rain was coming, but if you can see ants getting in through a hole, shouldn’t it be sealed? Spray only seems like a temporary fix. With guests coming and going, I’d expect more attention to this than in someone’s own home. There were also spiders and cobwebs. The webs looked like they’d been there for weeks or months, on the curtains, ceiling corners, and bedroom lamps. We saw live spiders on the living room window, behind the kitchen coffee maker, in the shower, and walking along the bedroom wall. I understand spiders are common in village houses, but rural accommodation needs careful cleaning and maintenance. Fumigation or specific poisons can also be placed strategically to keep them away. I do want to acknowledge that the owners were kind. While we waited for the house, they offered us anything we wanted. But we arrived at 1:15 pm and the house wasn’t ready until around 2:30 pm, even though check-in was supposedly at 12:00. We think arrival and departure times should be respected. If check-out is at noon, I can’t stay until 3:00 pm, and having both check-in and check-out at noon means the times overlap. The location was also too far from the places we wanted to visit. Pola de Allande is the nearest town, about a 30-minute drive along a winding road. That’s personal preference, of course, but I wouldn’t recommend it for visiting nearby places. It seems better for getting away from everything or going hiking, with little else around. About your reply: Booking.com listed check-in and check-out as 12:00 PM, so it’s strange that they changed it. And the oil issue can’t be right, since we made pizza in the oven.
