We ate at the restaurant across the road, where they went out of their way to help us, especially since our Spanish and French were limited. The room had great views, and there was a kitchen available, so I think you can rent the whole place. It's perched on a hillside overlooking the Pyrenees foothills, in a beautiful village. What a brilliant find. I couldn't fault it, and I'd recommend it. I'd stay again if I were in the area.

The only downside was the mattress. Everything else was wonderful, and I'd highly recommend it. The service was warm and welcoming, and the historic setting was beautiful and peaceful. The theatrical guided tour of Montsonis Castle had us laughing. The waitress was excellent, and the menu was tasty, simple, and affordable.

We didn't stay for dinner, and because it was just the two of us, service was very slow. The surroundings are beautiful, but our supposed superior room didn't feel special. The mattress was very uncomfortable, and there wasn't even a glass in the room. Breakfast wasn't served until 9 am, later than anywhere I've stayed. Is there not even time for a coffee before then? Is there anything else in the village? We had breakfast included, and it was just toast, butter and jam, plus stale muffins. Two pieces of toast were burnt, there were no cold cuts, and the milky coffee was cold and awful. I don't recommend it.

It turned out to be a nice place, and the staff were friendly. We'd booked a room for 4, but ended up with two large rooms, each with a private bathroom, as part of a three-room apartment. There was a shared kitchen and dining room. Since we were the only guests, we had the whole apartment to ourselves, which was a lovely surprise.

We had two rooms with a kitchen and living room, and there were all the utensils we needed to cook. The place was beautiful and very clean, and the staff were lovely. Spectacular, we'll be back.
