Dinner was a highlight, everything we tried was really tasty, and we had a very nice stay at the hotel. Its location also made it easy to explore Morella and the nearby area. I’d recommend their teriyaki for a lovely stay in town.

We had a spacious, tidy room with lovely views over the hills, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a grand building inside Morella’s walls, with a lively bar and a restaurant serving good local food. Both the cafeteria and restaurant seem popular with locals. There’s air conditioning, though you need to ask Reception for the remote.

The TV programmes couldn’t be switched to another language, which was the one thing that bothered us. Otherwise, it was a really comfortable stay with great staff, a good restaurant and breakfast, and a handy location for exploring the town.

We picked the mountain view and loved looking out over the rooftops towards the mountains. The room was clean, with a good en suite, wooden shutters and plenty of hangers and conveniently placed sockets. The bed felt a little firm to me, though that’s very subjective. At the bar, our meal came quickly and without fuss, and it was delicious. They also had an English menu if needed. At reception, a young woman greeted us and spoke good English. We’d reserved private parking, and unloading outside the hotel before moving the car to the garage was no problem, with a hotel escort.
