We had a lovely stay. The garden was amazing, and the place itself has a beautiful history. The suite rooms are comfortable, though I haven’t seen the others. The pool looked nice, but it wasn’t open yet as it was out of season. Breakfast was very basic, but it’s worth remembering this isn’t a hotel.

Thank you for such a special stay ❤️ The house has a wonderful history, and its private pool and lovely view made it a memorable place to unwind. Casa de los Bates has an aristocratic feel, while still giving you a chance to experience Spanish life in a private residence rather than a standard hotel. Having private chef Philippe made the stay feel even more personal. The meals brought out the variety of French cuisine, and he could introduce guests to original dishes. The pool was a lovely way to relax in Spain’s warm weather, and the home’s privacy and comfort gave it some of the feel of a high-end resort.

The gardens were my favourite part of this beautiful rural villa. It’s a real gem, and the rooms made us feel the character of this timeless home. We’d love to visit again. One thing, checking in after hours was a bit difficult, so it’s best to arrive on time or during the day.

The room was basic but pleasant, and stayed cool in summer without needing air conditioning. The manor is very quiet, with just six rooms, and it was lovely to relax among the flowers. The owner introduced himself and showed us around, and was very kind. It’s outside Motril but close to some beautiful beaches on the Costa Tropical. The WiFi and mobile signal on the property weren’t very strong, unfortunately.
