Complejo El Carrascal

The thing that made me rate this place so highly was the unusual experience. If you're after something different from the usual hotel chains or independent hotels, it's worth a try. It seems best for an overnight stop while travelling, rather than a longer stay. I was on a solo motorcycle trip and had ridden from Malaga to Pomplana over two days, avoiding motorways and doing about 7-8 hours each day. The N502 through the middle of Spain was an amazing road, but that's another story. Late on the first day I looked online for somewhere to stay, picked the cheapest option, and was really glad I landed here. It may be common in Spain, for all I know, but I'd never stayed anywhere quite like it. At first it looked like a roadside 'motel' attached to services and a petrol station. The building and presentation were much grander than the price led me to expect, and I've paid more for less plush places. My room was in good shape, tastefully decorated, and very clean. The towels and linens were spotless. The food was tasty and good value, and the views were amazing despite the roadside setting. The first staff member I met may have been the person mentioned in some other reviews. She didn't make the best first impression, but I soon realised she was alright. Spanish people can sometimes come across as unhelpful, but in practice they serve you well without false courtesy.

A friendly place to pull over for a quick bite. They were great with our tired kids and put together something that worked well for them.

I needed somewhere to stay along my route and found this hotel. The room, shower, and bed were all just what I needed, and I was very happy with them.
