The house looks bigger in the photos, though it isn’t small. Its basement seems like the main attraction, but for a group it was barely lit and extremely cold, so it wasn’t equipped for us. In fact, the house doesn’t seem set up for large groups. It might work better for 6-8 people, with the double rooms downstairs and another room on the third floor. We paid €1,500 for two nights for 18 people. When we spoke by phone, the owner said our group size was fine. We only learned when making the final payment that she would be staying in the house too. A couple of heaters were missing, and although there’s a fireplace, there was no firewood provided. She sells it separately for €20 a basket. In my opinion, if you rent a house with a fireplace for that price and there’s firewood in the yard, it would be a basic courtesy to include it. It was cold enough that we walked around in jackets and wrapped in blankets. We also lost power for almost two hours while we still had Christmas dinner to cook. We had to celebrate New Year’s Eve there without electricity, using lots of candles and listening to the chimes on the radio. The worst part, though, was how the owner treated us. Calling it terrible would be putting it mildly. I don’t recommend it. My experience was a disaster.
