The rooms are simple and cozy, but the restaurant and Luis made this stay stand out. It was our favorite stop of the whole bike trip along the coast. Such a magical place.

The climb out of Deba is about 3 km, but I’d seriously stay here again. The team made our stay special, and the staff were so accommodating. The food was expensive, though very high quality. There’s a bar and restaurant, and I’d definitely recommend the place.

The views over the Bay of Biscay are lovely, and you can get a packed lunch too. We had a superb dinner, then fresh fruit, freshly baked croissants and cake for breakfast. The rural setting is fabulous, the rooms are excellent, and the owners are great. Highly recommend.

I couldn't find a room in Deba, so I came across Casa Rural Pikua online. It sits right by Camino del Norte. Follow the arrows out of Deba and up the hill, and keep Google Maps open so you don't miss it. The room was much like others on the Camino de Santiago. Just be aware, there's no air conditioning or fan.

We were walking from Deba on a Sunday morning and everything else was closed, so finding this place was such a happy surprise. We stopped for coffee on the fantastic terrace and got a lovely welcome. The view is amazing. Thanks so much for making us feel welcome.
