I walked the Camino de Santiago in September 2025 and stayed at Pension San Lorenzo. There’s a newer building with a second Pension, about a two-minute walk away. People in the lane beside the building were making noise late at night. The room itself was basic, but very clean and tidy, and breakfast with coffee was included the next day. All in all, I enjoyed the stay. For information, my Camino travel partners were @magichillholidays, located in Ireland.

José and Laura made me feel right at home on my first visit to this beautiful town. The family who owns Pensión San Lorenzo were kind and helpful, and personally prepared an excellent breakfast. They also run a store where you can buy cheese and other delicious products from the region. It was a pleasure being their guest, and I’ll stay at Pensión San Lorenzo again next time I visit. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We had a small problem and needed to change our booking, and the wonderful people at Pension Lorenzo were incredibly helpful. We couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you, Laura and the team!

Laura was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to all my emails before arrival. I then found out she speaks English, which helped since my Spanish is only so-so. Check-in was easy at the shop next to Pension #1. At Pensión San Lorenzo 2, I had perhaps my best room on the Camino Francés so far. The mattress and pillow were the most comfortable and highest quality yet, and the room was unbelievably clean. The shower was amazing, and there’s an elevator, which was perfect for tired pilgrim legs and feet. Highly recommended.

After walking the Camino three times, I’d say this is the best place to stay in Nejera. What a find! The rooms are modern, comfortable, and quiet, and Laura is a gracious host. Highly recommend.
