Had an amazing dinner at Maria Adema. The quality for the price was fantastic. I’ll go back whenever I return on an aki tryp.
We paid 48€ per person after ordering one of the cheaper Montsant wines on the list. For that, we got olla aranesa, a little secrero, and a bit of very badly cooked magret. The menu is now 38€, with the wine they include in it being no good at all. That’s especially sad when Spain has plenty of acceptable wines for 3-5€. The portions keep getting smaller and the service is completely unprofessional. This place used to have the best-value menu, with really good olla aranesa, but it keeps getting worse. I miss Maria. The valley is expensive, but there are many better places with a nicer atmosphere for 48€. I don’t recommend it and won’t be back.
We went for dinner as a group of 7 adults and 7 children aged 8-12. The place had a set menu and two sittings. Without us asking, they brought out disproportionate amounts of cold cuts, stew, meat, and dessert, and more than half was left over. At the end, they charged us €37.50 for every menu and said the children had to pay the adult price too, €37.50 for 18 children, because “they’d already brought it.” Be very careful of this scam.
We had a very good quality-price ratio when we visited a few years ago. But when we returned this Christmas, prices had risen considerably for the quality of the food, wine, and everything else. I’d think twice about going back.
The dining room is very small and noisy, and the service feels unprofessional. The menu is just okay, nothing special, and the prices are far too high for the quality. I wouldn’t recommend it.
