Town is about a 10-minute walk beyond the beach, and without your own umbrella and chair or sunbed, reaching the beach means another 20 minutes on foot. There's a mini market in the complex, but arriving late like we did left a taxi into town as the only realistic option, for €7. The place is cheap and cheerful, though it could use some TLC.

My father and I stayed for 10 days and had a really good time. It was very peaceful and close to most things around us, though you need a car in Nerja.

The photos didn't match what we found, and the place was dirty. The plates, pots, knives and forks in the kitchen were filthy, so we ate out. There were also saucepan-sized burn marks on the table. They overcharged us, and when we asked for the apartment deposit back, they said they hadn't taken one.

The pool looks out over the beach, and the location is nice. There's a spa and pool bar, free parking, and reception is open around the clock.

The staff were really helpful, and there's a shop on site and good parking. The place could use a little refurbishment, but it's good for the money. I really enjoyed my stay and would come back.
