Hotel Los Arcos

We stayed one night on our way to and from Gibraltar and had a lovely time. The restaurant had excellent food and ambience, and happy hour goes on for four hours. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were nice, with good-sized balconies and views. There isn’t much else in the area, but it worked fine for a short stay.

Our room was large, clean and just right, but although we booked as a couple, we got only one bath towel and two hand towels. The staff were pleasant, and breakfast was adequate. Reception was unstaffed throughout our two-day stay, with the bar staff covering its duties. We arrived on a Tuesday and were told the restaurant was closed that day, with only heated pizza available if we wanted to eat at the hotel. The hotel oversells what it can offer. Being so far from town, there are better value places closer in.

The rooms are clean and spacious, and the hotel is very good, in a nice neighborhood. First-floor rooms have a terrace view of both the mountains and the sea. The swimming pool is small but quiet and clean. Breakfast bread is still warm, and they also gave us food to take because we had to leave early in the morning. Nerja is.... :)

The bus stop nearby made getting into town manageable, even though it was too far for us to walk. It cost €2 each, took around 10 minutes going in and about half an hour on the way back. We also found the supermarket next door handy for snacks and drinks. The reception staff member was warm and helpful, and arranged a room by the lift for someone in our group with mobility issues. That put us on the same level as the outdoor pool, which worked out well. The hotel itself looked inviting. Breakfast was a standard continental spread with an “English breakfast” of baked beans and fried eggs, decent enough to keep us going until dinner. We loved our stay and would gladly return to the area and hotel.
