Naim Guest House Nerja

There’s a lovely coffee shop attached to the hotel, with breakfast and takeaway coffee. It gets very popular and busy. The hotel itself is about a five-minute walk from the bus drop-off, and we received a very friendly welcome. The building was extremely clean and smelled beautiful throughout. I’d love to know what cleaning products they use. Our room at the front was light, airy, and modern, with a Juliet balcony. It was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the en suite was adequate. There were plenty of mirrors, storage and sockets, plus water and earplugs. The earplugs make sense: it’s a noisy area. Mopeds and traffic start around 6am. The windows and shutters block a lot of the sound, but doors bang and crash from 7am, shaking the room, and people shout on the landings despite notices asking for quiet. There’s no lift, which could be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. It’s a lovely hotel, but if you want peace and quiet, you might consider somewhere near the Balcon de Europa.

We had a lovely five-day stay this December, and the bed was super comfortable. When the ovens downstairs were on, the coffee shop sent up a wonderful smell of baking. Great all around. I highly recommend Naim.

The rooms are beautiful and sparkling clean, and there’s a gorgeous terrace with sea views and a mini kitchen. Reception help was somewhat limited at times, and the rooftop pool is currently empty. Still, highly recommended.

I can’t fault the lovely cleaner, who also seems to be the main person at reception. The rooms are lovely and the location is great, but we hardly slept because they aren’t soundproof. The staff provide basic earbuds, which was a thoughtful idea, but we had to switch to our own wax ones and those still didn’t block the street cleaners at 5am or the constant traffic outside.
