Oscar, the office manager, was very helpful and apologized about the steps, and the apartment gave us a wonderful view over Nerja. Still, we were disappointed with the location. We’d booked two apartments for six people and requested that they be close together, with one on the ground floor because my wife has difficulty climbing stairs. After watching YouTube videos, I’d assumed they would be near the Villas-Capistrano office, but we had to drive to the top of the urbanisation, in the San Juan de Capistrano area. The supposed ground floor apartment had 25 steps from the road to its entrance. I feel we should have been warned. I emailed twice before the holiday to confirm we’d have a ground floor apartment and got no reply. We booked around four months ahead, so this wasn’t last minute. Surely they knew what was available. We’ll probably avoid them in future.

The pool was a big part of our stay, with many hours spent swimming and sunbathing while Arabian Jasmine was in bloom. The rooms were private, clean, and could be cooled right down with the modern, efficient air conditioning. Everything inside felt both authentic and modern, and we took home some ideas for our own decor. Capistrano Village was private and peaceful, just what we needed to unwind after visiting for a friend’s wedding. Mercadona is moments away for essentials, and the nearby restaurants meant we could have stayed in Capistrano for days without needing to leave. Nerja is beautiful, and Capistrano Village is stunning. From booking to leaving, everything went perfectly. Sam was incredibly responsive and exactly what you’d want in a host. We’ll definitely be back to this authentic Spanish villa.

It’s quiet at Capistrano, and the people we meet are friendly. The staff are always amazing, and we’ve never felt unhappy with what we got for the money, even though the apartments and villas can differ massively. It’s our family’s favourite place to stay in Nerja.

The reception team communicated well before and during our week in June and were very helpful. The accommodation was clean and had everything we needed, and the area was lovely and quiet. There are two supermarkets a short walk away; Nerja town and the nearest beach are both about a 20 minute walk. The area is hilly, but we managed even with a wheelchair by walking into town and taking a taxi back to the villas. The restaurant staff were amazing, and Jose made our stay a little more special. We’d definitely consider coming back 👍

We ended up looking for somewhere near burriana beach after flight cancellations left us stranded in Malaga, and these villas turned out to be a brilliant choice. It had everything we could need, with great pools and plenty of places within walking distance. You do have to rent a sun lounger, which was the one downside, but sitting on the floor is an option. We absolutely loved it and will be back!
