Camping Playa América

The promenade nearby was lovely, with restaurants and bars, and the beaches were close. We spent two nights here in our motorhome. It has plenty of facilities for a busy high season, and the cafe and bar on site were fine.

The beach is about a 10-minute walk away, and the bay made the water calm and nice for swimming. Sunday was busy there, though it was much quieter during the week. A supermarket just around the corner made things convenient. The staff were really friendly, and some spoke English. It's a large site with lots of static and long-stay caravans. I guess plenty of Spanish people spend the whole summer here, but there's space for tents and campervans too. The facilities were good and kept very clean.

The restaurant was the one good part: the menu was a good deal at 10€ for two courses, dessert, a drink, and coffee. But there were kids making noise everywhere all day and for most of the night. Security had to move them out of the sports area at midnight. Not relaxing at all, and I wouldn't return.

There's a mini market on site for bread, fruit, vegetables, and basics, plus a large supermarket 300 meters from the entrance. The beach is a 5 to 10 minute walk, and the camp has daily activities for younger and older guests. This really lives up to its first-class rating, with all the amenities you'd expect and excellent staff. The pitches are spacious enough, and there are enough that you can find a spot even in high season, though I'd book ahead to be safe. The bathrooms and showers are clean. Free wifi reaches the whole campsite, but the internet can slow down when it's nearly full.
