The man running the hostal was warm and friendly, and the studio we stayed in for one night was pleasant. The WiFi was unreliable, though, and there was little signal. Dinner at the restaurant was another matter. It's run by different people, and the service was awful. A rude waiter left us waiting 20 minutes, served other Spanish customers first, and answered our questions about the menu and gluten-free choices in a lazy, irritated way. When I complained about the wait, he said "me da igual" ("I don't care" in English) several times. I was shocked, and we left. The restaurant is in an isolated area with no other food options, so I felt uncomfortable going back upstairs to the studio hungry. I couldn't wait to leave the next morning. I feel bad for the hostal staff, but Alba seems to be the same establishment for both the hostel and restaurant, so I think it's necessary to post my review here.

We stumbled across this place by chance, and I loved it. The restaurant meal was delicious, and the set menu was 12 euros for salad, bread, a first course, a second course, and dessert or coffee. The restaurant isn't expensive, and I'd also recommend trying their homemade beer. Inside, it feels like a museum of western films. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was filmed in the area, and Clint Eastwood was there.

We had a weekend stay and came away delighted. The price and quality were a good match. The amenities are basic, but everything was in excellent condition and the staff were very attentive. They also take COVID-19 precautions extremely seriously. Thank you!

We used the place for drinks and a menu del dia, and found it perfectly OK. The menu costs less than many and wasn't bad, though, as usual, there were no vegetarian options. It's also a handy base for walking to Cortijo del Fraile, where the real events behind Lorca's play, Boda de Sangre (Blood Wedding), took place, or for looking around Los Albaricoques, where many spaghetti westerns were filmed. Beyond that, it's a little out of the way.

It's a cool area to stay in, close to places where classic westerns were filmed. The room had AC and a comfortable bed, and the owners were accommodating and spoke great English. The restaurant was good too.
