Hamlet's Friends

Marta and Nico were such welcoming hosts, and we had a great time. We spent five nights at Hamlet’s Friends this spring, working remotely while enjoying the surrounding nature. It was just what we needed. Our one bedroom cabin sat near the top of a hill and was ideal for two. We liked having breakfast outside in the morning sun, with the view in front of us. The kitchen had what we needed for simple meals, and the bathroom was spacious and comfortable. The shower pressure was amazing, almost spa-like. There were two air conditioners for cooling the cabin and heating it on colder nights. I worked from the cabin and the WiFi was okay, though next time I’d like to try their nearby co-working space. It’s a little over an hour from Madrid, and Google Maps made the drive easy. Guest parking is free. Since we had a car, we also visited villages nearby and took a day trip to Toledo city. The cozy cabin had everything we needed, and opening the door put us right in the middle of nature. We spent the weekend there with our little puppy and couldn’t have asked for a better place. Great for a city break, with or without a dog. 100% recommendable. Thank you, Marta and Nico!

There’s Nespresso in the clubhouse, which is handy for coffee lovers. The walk up the hills makes for a proper hike, and the view across the valley from the top is lovely. Martha and Niko were helpful and knew plenty about the area. It’s a wonderful place to stay, and we’ll certainly visit them again.

I found Hamlet's Friends by chance while driving south toward Portugal, and I’m glad I did. It was so nice that I added another night. I liked the quiet and being surrounded by nature, while still having a bit of company. Traveling solo, I appreciated being able to have a chat now and then. The communal kitchen was great for cooking my own meals, and I got through my whole to-do list in one afternoon in the lovely co-working space. I’ve already talked with friends about possibly coming here together for a workation week.
