Such a lovely surprise.

Breakfast was a well-organized buffet with several options to choose from, and you could go back for more. The room was simple but had everything we needed for a comfortable stop on our trip through Galicia. The receptionist was lovely and answered all our questions. The doors made quite a noise when opening and closing, and the walls didn’t block much sound, so we could hear everything as people came and went.

The bay views were beautiful, and there was plenty of parking. Our room was spacious, the restroom was roomy, and everything was clean. The service was attentive, the hallways smelled pleasant, and the hostal is close to the train station, which worked well for us as backpackers. It sits at the entrance to town. We arrived at the end of May 2024, before the season, and were grateful to be received before the 3:00 PM reservation opening time. The bar was closed then, and there weren’t many tourists in the town. We could eat at the restaurant by the port and buy groceries in the town center. Highly recommended.

We came as a couple with our teenage daughter this past weekend. Noelia was right when she said the road-facing room would be peaceful, and it really was quiet. The three-bed room wasn’t luxurious, but it was spotless and spacious, with a blind and soap, shower gel, and shampoo. She also said we could borrow a hairdryer if needed. Parking is available out front down the slope and behind the building. Breakfast was fantastic at five euros per person, with bread, pastries, a vegan-pâté-like spread, cheese, quince paste, some kind of empanadas, cereal, and more. There was orange juice and another kind we didn’t try, though the juice we had tasted great. We could eat inside the café or outdoors with sea views. They were flexible about an early breakfast, and the 7 to 11 or 11:30 window worked well for us. I gave the food a five because of the breakfast. We’ll definitely come back when we’re in the area.
