Hotel Spa Marbella Hills

Avoid the buffet. I had the €22 buffet dinner during a one-night stay before an early flight, and I’ve been sick for three days. The buffet was poor even aside from that: very little choice, no drinks, cheap fried food and no flavour. Making paying guests ill is disgraceful. I’ll never stay there again.

The manager was very friendly and deserves the extra star. When he was around, he looked for solutions and tried to provide good service. The rest of the experience was disappointing: staff were sometimes unfriendly or even rude, the buffet and its freshness didn’t please me, and room service items were often unavailable. What I could order was always poor quality. There were plenty of other issues too. I stayed with a friend for a few long weeks, but we checked out much earlier than planned. We’d already paid for the final weeks, and unfortunately couldn’t get that money back. Hope things improve in the future. Good luck.

The staff were simply the best, and the restaurant food was outstanding. Breakfast was a little hit and miss, but there was always enough to get the day started. We had a lovely stay and breathtaking views over Marbella. The room’s AC was broken, and the gym was very poor, with five or six mostly old, broken machines in one room. They’re renovating the hotel, though, and it still felt like fair value. If the improvements continue, it’ll be hard to beat once the work is done.

The rooms and food were very good, the staff friendly and helpful, and the spa facilities first class. It’s a lovely hotel with spectacular hilltop views. The road up is concrete and runs through the countryside, so ignore the comment about needing a 4x4. What do you expect?
