Maset del Garraf

This was my first and last time here. I picked it because it came up as close to the airport, but it’s far from Barcelona Airport. In the dark, the taxi driver took us through a mountain and hesitated to go so far from the city. We had to beg him to continue. Our luggage was delayed, which made us arrive late, so I messaged the owner asking to cancel. He refused. I also asked if he’d waive the late check-in charge because of the luggage delay, and his response was insulting. We eventually persuaded the driver to take us, but the location the owner sent led to someone else’s home. We called, and he gave us more directions. It felt like a Halloween nightmare. There wasn’t even a bottle of water in the room, and every door creaked so badly I was afraid to open one. Francois was rude and needs to learn customer service. Why run a business without that essential quality? It’s far away, dark, and the customer service is horrible. I didn’t like anything about this property.

The house is a piece of history, and you’ll feel like a lord in your room. We loved the rural surroundings: hills, vineyards, horses, and a clear sky full of bright stars, away from the city noise. There are hiking trails, and you can rent an electric bike to explore the area easily. The hosts are welcoming, and the food is great. It’s a perfect place to relax, quite romantic too. Totally recommend it.

We loved it, even with our 4-year-old. The host is a culinary genius, and the hostess always makes you feel welcome. You can cool off in the small pool and enjoy wines from the local vineyard. There’s no TV, which makes it easier to completely switch off. It’s an authentic mountain stay, about a 15-minute walk from the nearby town.

It’s a quiet family hotel in the countryside, with a very welcoming family atmosphere. The access road is unpaved, and there’s no air conditioning. Carrying lots of suitcases up the stairs and over the stones on the access path could be difficult.
