Club La Santa Hotel

There’s plenty to do here at reasonable prices, and hiring a bike makes it easy to get out of the resort. You can also rent a car from the airport for a very affordable price. All the activities on site can be booked, and the place is kept really clean. The standard rooms are basic but well maintained, with a microwave, hob, toaster, and kettle. Just know the leisure pool isn’t heated, while the competition pools are.

The resort itself was lovely: clean, well organized, and clearly looked after. Our room was comfortable and nicely equipped, and the sports facilities and activities were excellent. The concept works very well, and we spent a full week at Club La Santa in the village of La Santa, Lanzarote. The restaurant service, though, made the stay feel mixed. A few times at dinner we only wanted the salad buffet. Around 60% of the tables looked empty, but staff said the restaurant was completely full and offered only take away. Since guests serve themselves at the buffet and there were plenty of free tables, we couldn’t understand why we couldn’t sit down for a simple, quiet meal. At some of the other restaurants on site, service also felt tired, rushed, or disengaged. Some staff called guests “buddy” or “friend,” which came across as too casual and not very welcoming. We missed a personal touch or warmth. The facilities, accommodation, sports, and surroundings were great, but the approach of some service staff noticeably lowered the quality of our experience and took away from what could have been an excellent holiday. Maybe it was a cultural difference, but we found it hard to ignore.

The Green Team made this such a fun place to stay. They were helpful, and I loved joining the classes. Maria and Kasper were especially great to be around. If you're bringing kids, make sure they hear about them! I came from London for my summer holiday, and I’m still a kid myself, so I might see things differently from an adult. The sports facilities are amazing: a 400 meter running track, padel, tennis, football, an Olympic size pool, CrossFit, pickleball, basketball, golf, and even a lagoon. There were different buffet options every day, and the brownies were so good I ate 27 altogether. The atmosphere was friendly, and I made a bunch of new friends in my first couple of days. They come every year, and I really hope I can come back next year and see them again. Whether I was playing football, doing other sports, hanging out by the pool, or eating buffet food, I had an amazing time. Thanks, Green Team, for making it such a lovely place!

We had a spacious, really comfortable apartment and enjoyed the whole stay. It’s worth signing up for activities several days ahead, and if you’re on a waitlist, still show up since you might get in. We’d definitely come back!
