Residencia Universidad

I've been staying here for three weeks now, and I have to say it's a really good place if you want somewhere comfortable with good service. It's close to everything, but away from nightclubs and noise.

I spent six months here, and it worked really well for me as a substitute teacher or student. The rooms get lovely natural light, each has a desk, and everything is very clean. You can ask for access to a kitchen, and the woman who hands over the keys is friendly and helpful. It’s in the university area, within walking distance of the city center, with a gym and supermarket nearby. In winter, the heating runs from 2:00 PM to midnight. Good value for the money.

The location in Ourense is handy, near bars, a Mercadona supermarket, and parking. We booked two rooms, though one couple slept badly because of the beds and got a refund. I’d only suggest it if you can’t find another option.

At night, I couldn't sleep properly. I don't know what goes on, but the owner wanders through the halls. I can't say whether it's her fault. I won't come back or recommend the place. They seem to treat guests differently depending on how long they book. For a stay of one or two days, they "forget" to give you a bill. They also reprimand you for bringing a small bottle of water, while saying nothing when they see others bringing chickens in for food. A disgraceful place.
