Princesa Munia Hotel & Spa

The spa was the highlight, especially the sauna, which was properly hot. The steam room felt a bit cool to me, and the pool was small, though about what you'd expect at a city hotel. I chose the place for the spa and its central location, and spent two days here. The hotel was smart, clean, and comfortable, and close to everything I wanted to do. Breakfast was included and fine, just not exceptional. All in all, a good stay. Maybe another time I'd look for somewhere with more character, but the spa was good!

The service was very kind, and valet parking was available. The location was perfect, and I liked the good hair dryer and great bath towels. The room had some real problems, though. The toilet and shower share one area, and it flooded, so the next person using the toilet would have to step on a wet floor. The glass walls and door gave no privacy at all. Also, the mattress in my room seemed due for replacement, with springs sticking out and making it uncomfortable.

The staff were very nice and helpful, and the location is central, with practical valet parking. But it was very loud at night because the windows aren't soundproof, so sleeping was hard. It's a small hotel with narrow corridors and somewhat small rooms. Breakfast was nice, though the basement dining room felt a bit claustrophobic.

We barely slept and ended up leaving after one night, even though we'd booked two. The mattress was rock hard, the worst and most uncomfortable hotel bed I've ever had despite traveling all over the world. Our first-floor room faced jackhammering that started around 7:30am, and nobody had warned us construction noise might be an issue. We'd asked to move to a higher floor and were refused. When we told the hotel we couldn't manage a second night after so little sleep, they kept the money for it. We left and ate the cost of the unused night. The whole stay felt like being nickle and dimed: they charge to replace the pods for the in-room coffee machine, and you start with just one caffeinated pod even when the reservation is for two people. We didn't stay for breakfast, but the room looked like a depressing, windowless basement. Parking was inconvenient, and the advertised valet service wasn't available in the evening. Pretty much every staff member we dealt with was unfriendly and had a bad attitude. They were totally unsympathetic throughout and didn't seem concerned about how this affected our vacation. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this left an exceptionally bad taste in my mouth.
