Maria and her husband Antonio were incredibly generous when I arrived at Albergue Camiño do Sar with an inflamed Achilles tendon and difficulty walking. They welcomed me early and let me check in before the usual time. When I needed food, Maria offered help right away. Antonio drove me to the supermarket, waited, brought me back, and carried my groceries inside. It meant a lot during a rough part of my Camino. The albergue was spotless, with a well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and clean bathrooms, all clearly cared for with pilgrims in mind. Maria also took me to the bus stop so I could continue to Santiago despite my injury. Fresh croissants and coffee were waiting in the morning. Their kindness made the stay special, and I highly recommend it. 💛

The owner is super nice, and the place is perfectly set along the trail. It’s very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen and big shelves for backpacks.

From outside, the place looks a little odd, but inside it’s clean, modern, and spacious. The hostess speaks English well, and although it’s close to the street, you barely hear it. Highly recommend.

The supermarket is close by, and this albergue doesn’t get overcrowded, so it’s a good spot if you want a quiet rest. I’ve stayed in lots of albergues, and few have been this clean and well organized. The shower and bathroom are as clean as a private home. I’d definitely recommend it to fellow pilgrims.

I’d happily return to Albergue Camiño do Sar. The sleeping area is spacious and well looked after, the private lockers are handy, and the price is very affordable. I called from the Camino, and the only thing the receptionist asked was that I arrive before 5 pm. There’s a functional communal area and a short, safe walk to shops and a couple of great restaurants. A little investment in the outdoor grounds could make the place top-notch.
