Casa de Marcelo

Padrón is a bit of a walk, and Manuel picked me up on his way back to the house since it wasn’t advisable to walk there. The location itself is quiet, and the property has beautiful furnishings, a magnificent garden and a new pool. Manuel and Dolores were lovely hosts. Dolores invited me to the family lunch she cooked, and there was a superb breakfast with homemade cake. @Dolores, could I get the cake recipe? I also got to try the delicious homemade plum liquor. Thank you very much.

It felt like coming home after a brisk walk beside one of the area's crystal-clear rivers. The owners made us feel like special guests in this rural community, away from the usual routes but still less than half an hour's drive from the dramatic Rias Baixas coast and its hidden seafood restaurant gems. We had a wonderful stay in a lovely house in an incredible part of Spain, and a return visit is on the cards!

The breakfast was the highlight, with everything homemade. Dolores's jams were amazing. The room was very cosy, and the garden was wonderful, full of beautiful flowers and with a lovely covered swimming pool. This little gem is not too far from Santiago de Compostella and makes a perfect holiday spot. Thank you for making us feel at home. We hope to return soon!

The breakfast is unreal, and Manuel and Loli gave us superb service as hosts. The accommodation has bags of character, is really comfortable, beautifully decorated and spotless. The landscaped gardens are lovely, and the location is peaceful. A great option for discerning pilgrims passing through Padrón.
