Pension Glorioso

After several days of heavy rain, the landlady helped us settle in and even washed and dried all our clothes. We were walking the Camiño and stayed here on the second-to-last day before heading to Santiago. The place was clean and cozy, quiet enough for a good night's sleep, and our private room had a lovely view out back. It’s right beside the Camino route and good value. Thanks for the kind accommodation and service.

There aren't many food options nearby, which was the main challenge. Still, I was pleasantly surprised by the room. Ours was at the back of the hotel, looking onto a peaceful green space, and we had no noise problems. We even slept with the windows open through a rainy night, with the sound of rain and nature. I'd worried after booking because the place is beside an adult establishment and people had mentioned noise, but it turned out to be quiet, clean, and modern.

The room was clean and had a private bathroom and balcony, but being right by the highway was tough. Even with the shutters fully closed, the cars sounded like they were in the room. You need some airflow, though, so keeping them shut wasn't really an option. The staff were very friendly and did their best to make us feel welcome. We were there on Sunday, when every restaurant except theirs was closed, and their kindness was much appreciated.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, but €35 felt far too much. I've stayed in better places for less than half that. On arrival, there was no hot water for a shower, only lukewarm, and the marble floors made the room freezing. I was never so cold. To their credit, the heating eventually came on and stayed on until morning. The food in the cafe next door wasn't for us, and it was cold there too. I'd eat somewhere else.
