Alda Palas de Rei

Everything was very clean, and the wood in the comfortable room gave it a cabin feel. Being right on the Camino, about 500 m before town, was convenient. My room was next to the entrance door, so there was quite a bit of noise until around 9:30, then it got very quiet. The heat made the room warm, so I opened the window and kept the wooden shutter closed. Dinner and breakfast were OK, but nothing special, especially the $21 US pilgrim meal buffet.

Friendly staff and a quiet area with lots of Camino pilgrims. The rooms seemed new and were very clean. Breakfast and dinner were tasty buffets. Highly recommend.

Lovely staff and service, and the cabins or bungalows are spacious and nice. It's right on the Camino, with a small bar and snacks on site. Town is another kilometer away for drinks and supplies.

The wooden bungalows are pretty, and the staff were nice. I liked the clean bathroom, hot water, good shower pressure, and refillable soap and shampoo containers instead of tiny single-use bottles. The walls are paper thin, though. I could hear the front door, the neighbors' bathroom door, conversations, TV, suitcase wheels, and snoring. I also prefer controlling my own room temperature, and having to go outside to reach the dining room was unpleasant in the freezing late October weather. It's about 1 km from Palas de Rei's downtown center.
