The pool is outstanding, and the beach is only a two-minute walk away. Breakfast was decent, with a few choices for people who don't eat pork, and the staff were friendly and tried to help. Some couldn't speak English, though. The room was very basic and in poor shape for a four-star hotel. There wasn't a kettle or complimentary coffee and tea, and the air conditioning barely worked. It also seemed there was no maintenance team on site.
The pool was nice, and the kids enjoyed it, but the rest of the hotel looked run down and nothing like the website's marketing. The worst part of our stay was that my 15-year wedding band disappeared from the bedside table. I told management, and they emailed back with “Lost” ring in the subject. To be clear, I didn't lose it in the room. The safe wasn't working, so my wife hid her valuables, which are worth much more than the band. What it means to me matters more than its price, and I'm upset with the hotel and myself for not putting it away. If you stay here, check that the safe works and use it. If it doesn't, you and your family might have to take turns keeping someone in the room. That sounds ridiculous, but so does a hotel that won't take responsibility for what happens there. Staying here was one of the worst mistakes of my life.
We had a miserable stay. The air conditioning didn't work, and although they initially said they'd move us to another room, they never did. The food was mediocre, too. This place is hugely overrated: three stars at best, and honestly comparable to some two-star hotels.
The golf course was the one good part, with a nice course and friendly staff. The hotel itself is run down, and the old room and bathroom don't justify the €338 nightly price or the four stars on the building. The air conditioning was really noisy. At reception, staff kept their attention on a computer in the back room and didn't notice guests waiting; they also gave us no details about the hotel's restaurants at check-in. Housekeeping arrived after 4 pm on four of our five days, even though we were out by 10:30 every morning. Ridiculous. The pool loungers were old and worn, and while a few staff members were friendly, many seemed annoyed by guests. We definitely won't return.
Breakfast was great, and we tried the Thursday dinner buffet too. The food was very good, though it was pricey. There was live music that evening, and I really enjoyed it. The resort is pretty quiet; we could hear noisy neighbors through the room walls, but it never lasted long. The bed was comfortable and the shower pressure was good. Poolside lounging was relaxing, with plenty of chairs and lots of shade from the umbrellas. The beach is easy to reach and lovely, with sand, great water, and a tranquil feel. You do have to pay for beach chairs and an umbrella, even with the resort fee, but I thought it was worth it. The staff were friendly and did their best to make the stay pleasant. We'd go back.
